Catagories of Membership

Supporting Member

This is the highest tier of CHPA membership and as such offers superior benefits for the leading players in the CHP industry. Supporting Members have the strongest opportunities to determine the future of the industry, and enjoy the highest levels of representation and influence with government and policy makers. Each Supporting Member has twenty-five votes at the Association’s AGM and can name up to twelve members of their organisation to act as key CHPA contacts.

Full Member

This category is for businesses with a strong stake in the maintenance and development of a robust CHP market. It provides good opportunities for input in to the direction of the Association and the lobbying of its position. Each Full Member has twenty votes at the Association’s AGM and can name up to ten members of their organisation to act as key CHPA contacts.

District Energy Initiative (DEI) Member

This category is tailored specifically for those organisations with strong commercial, managerial and operational interests in community energy services. This category receives a dedicated and specially funded programme of work. Each DEI Member has fifteen votes at the AGM and can name up to five members of their organisation to act as key CHPA contacts.

Ordinary Member

This category is tailored towards new entrants seeking a better understanding of the CHP market, and those smaller companies and operators including those for whom CHP and energy services may represent only a part of their business, but who are keen to play an active part in the national activities of the Association. This category is also well suited for professional services organisations who benefit from the Association’s extensive network. Each Ordinary Member has ten votes at the AGM and can name up to four members of their organisation to act as key CHPA contacts.

Public Sector & Social Housing Member

This category represents those public sector and social housing organisations including: universities; NHS Trusts; RDA’s; and RSL’s, committed to the development and use of CHP and/or Community Heating. Each Public Sector and Social Housing Member has five votes at the AGM and can name up to four members of their organisation to act as key CHPA contacts.

£975 + VAT

Private Member

Private membership is most suitable for individuals, and often represents those who are retired from the industry or academics who are keen to remain in contact with the CHP sector and the latest developments. They have one vote at the AGM. Private Members DO NOT feature in the Association’s website, nor are they normally eligible to take part in the Association’s forums and working groups except by invitation.
