ConocoPhillips Immingham Combined Heat and Power (ICHP) is one of the largest, and one of the most efficient large scale combined heat and power stations in Europe. Following its Phase 2 expansion in late 2009 ICHP increased its electricity generation capacity by 60% to 1200 MW, and significantly increased its future capacity to supply heat to support local industry development.
The plant is fuelled by natural gas with liquid fuel as backup. It produces electricity and creates steam, which is used by the nearby ConocoPhillips' Humber and Total's Lindsey Refineries.
