Veolia ES Sheffield Ltd operates one of the largest and most successful district energy schemes in the UK. Veolia ES Sheffield Ltd utilises the heat produced at the Energy from Waste plant to generate electricity for sale to the grid and to provide approximately 120,000 MWh of heat every year. The 45 Km district energy network provides heat to public and private sector organisations within the city as well as many residents living in or around the city centre. The scheme is continuously expanding offering heating and cooling to consumers.
